Welcome to

Lower Willingdon Pre-School Nursery

We would like to give you a little insight into what makes Lower Willingdon Pre-School Nursery special.

The Pre School is managed by Julie Langford who has been a qualified teacher since 1999. She has worked in many teaching roles in local primary schools and also for East Sussex County Council as an advisor to all the schools in the county for Physical Education and Personal, Social and Health Education / Healthy Schools.

Lower Willingdon Pre-School Nursery is a Community Pre-School Nursery, a registered non-profit making Charity (number 1032239), and operates from a purpose built nursery building in the grounds of Willingdon Primary School, East Sussex. The Pre-School Nursery building provides extensive facilities including a large airy playroom, a quiet room / IT facilities, interactive white board, and an undercover outside play area. There is a large outside secure garden area. And although independent from the primary school we benefit from the use of their playgrounds and fields.

The Pre-School Nursery at present caters for up to approximately 70 children between the ages of two and five years, and in most cases the children progress from the Pre-School Nursery to the Infant Reception classes at Willingdon Primary School.   The children are grouped according to their age, with the youngest attending mainly afternoon sessions. The older children attend morning or full day sessions, subject to availability of spaces. We are registered with Early Years Childcare & Extended Schools Service to receive Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) for eligible children.  We are also offering the 30 hour funding to those eligible families, across our week, when there is availability.  Our holiday and term times coincide with those of Willingdon Primary School.

Additionally, the Pre-School Nursery operates an early morning Breakfast Club open from 7.30 am to 8.45 am and an After School Club operating from 3.00pm to 5.15pm for both Pre-School and School age children.
